Summer Reading

Reading opens doors to new opportunities and introduces children to new worlds. To support continued learning throughout the summer, Burch Charter School of Excellence has created a Summer Reading List designed to help students maintain and strengthen their reading skills while earning credit toward the upcoming school year.

Our goal is to minimize the "summer slide" by encouraging meaningful reading experiences that are fun, interactive, and educational for both students and their families. Through the shared QR code enclosed, you will find a Summer Reading Menu featuring grade-level reading activities and projects designed to engage students in thoughtful and enjoyable learning.

We encourage you to use these books and activities as a foundation for learning with your child throughout the summer. Reading together, discussing stories, and completing the activities will help foster a lifelong love of reading while preparing students for a successful start to the new school year.
